Water damage has been caused to the courtrooms and facilities on Levels 10, 11 and 12 of the Land and Environment Courthouse located at 225 Macquarie Street.
The court expects that Courts 10A, 10B, 11A, 11B and 12A and all associated facilities, meeting rooms, mediation and conciliation rooms and breakout rooms on these three floors to be inaccessible to the public and out of operation for some months.
The Land and Environment Court has been able to secure access to courtroom facilities nearby at the Hospital Road Courthouse and at Wentworth Chambers.
The Hospital Road Courthouse is located at 5010 Hospital Road, Sydney. Pedestrian access is via Macquarie Street through the Sydney Mint Museum and is shown on the walking route map below.
The Wentworth Chambers courtrooms are located on the first floor of Wentworth Chambers which are located at 180 Philip Street, Sydney. The courtrooms are accessed by lift to the first floor of Wentworth Chambers and a pedestrian walking route map from the Land and Environment Court to the Wentworth Chambers courtrooms is below.
Please allow extra time to access the courtrooms at these new locations. At the Hospital Road Courthouse everyone needs to pass through security screening prior to entry to the courthouse. At the Wentworth Chambers courtrooms, you will be attempting to access the lifts in a building that also houses barristers chambers, the occupants of which will also be attempting to access the lifts at the same time.
The daily published court list will announce the courtroom allocated to each matter. Please note that the court does not have exclusive use of some of these new courtroom locations, so for multi-day hearings, the courtroom allocated each day may change. Parties to proceedings are asked to check each day the courtroom allocated and its location.
