Find a law library

If you are representing yourself or are a member of the public

  • The Legal Information Access Centre (LIAC) at the State Library of NSW is a specialised legal information and research service for the general public. LIAC librarians can help you find information which is relevant to your legal problem. They can direct you to plain language explanations of the law, as well as text books, law journals, legislation and other sources.

If you are a legal practitioner

  • The Law Courts Library within the Law Courts Building at Queens Square, Sydney, is open to legal practitioners. Inter-library loans can also be arranged.
  • The NSW Bar Association Library is primarily for barristers and retired members of the Bar Association.
  • The Law Society Library is open to solicitors practising in New South Wales.
